As many of you are aware, the devastating fires that ravaged Maui in August 2023 have left a profound impact on the island, affecting thousands of lives and causing unprecedented destruction. In response to this tragedy, we are reaching out to you to support our ongoing relief efforts led by David Gomes, an exemplary member of our community and a dedicated Freemason.
Masonic Charities Of Hawaii has been at the forefront of our relief initiatives, demonstrating unwavering commitment and leadership in providing aid not only to our Brothers but to the entire community of Maui. As Chair of the Masonic Charities of Hawaii and with a distinguished history of service within our fraternity, Masonic Charities Of Hawaii has worked tirelessly to coordinate relief efforts, establish support programs, and provide assistance to those in need.
The scale of devastation caused by the fires is staggering, with over 2,702 structures destroyed, significant loss of life, and an estimated cost of $5.5 billion to rebuild. In collaboration with Masonic Charities Of Hawaii, we have already made significant strides in raising funds and providing immediate relief to those affected. Through the Masonic Charities of Hawaii, we have raised approximately $568,544 to date, and with your support, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by this tragedy.
Your generous contributions will go directly towards providing essential support such as rent, utilities, food, clothing, and water to individuals and families in need. With David’s leadership, we are committed to ensuring that our assistance reaches those who need it most and that we stand by our community throughout the long-term recovery process.
